LIGHT PAINTINGS

For this body of work, Mark Allen sets his camera on a tripod in a dark or dimly lit environment. By setting the shutter-speed to 30 seconds or more, the artist uses his cellphone light or other device to light the subject, which is often himself. These subsequent “Light Paintings” capture a dimensional representation of kinetic movement through time and space.
